The International Vessel Operators Dangerous Goods Association (IVODGA, formerly VOHMA) is pleased to announce the official welcome of Mr. Clifford Bartley, Manager, Hazardous Materials, Horizon Lines, LLC to the IVODGA Executive Committee. This appointment is to fill a vacancy on the Executive Committee and is effective until elections are held in the fall of 2011. The Executive Committee serves as the final review for Petitions and Comments that IVODGA submits to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) and other regulatory agencies, and papers submitted to the International Maritime Organization and the United Nations Sub Committee of Experts on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods. IVODGA is an international association comprised of twenty-six ocean carriers operating under the flags of several nations, dedicated to improving the understanding and application of domestic and international rules and regulations on the transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods which govern the industry. The organization strives to promote the safe handling of dangerous goods, as well as to offer the expertise of the ocean carriers in the evolution of effective regulations.
