International Vessel Operators Group Launches New Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods Online Training Courses

The International Vessel Operators Dangerous Goods Association, Inc. (IVODGA, formerly VOHMA) has launched new online training courses on their Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods training website - www.dgtrainingonline.com. Online training assists companies in meeting their hazardous materials/dangerous goods training needs. Although face-to-face events are more favorable, online training is a cost effective alternative when budgets are tight, travel is limited, and resources are scarce.

The US Department of Transportation requires that all hazmat employees be trained within 90 days of starting employment and must receive recurrent training at least every three years. Job changes and regulatory amendments may require retraining.

IMDG FUNCTION SPECIFIC TRAINING PROGRAM - AMENDMENT 34
The new International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Function Specific Training Program focuses on the safe and compliant transportation of dangerous goods transported by ocean common carrier. High quality visual aids in the form of professionally designed slides with professional narration keep students attention while covering all of the significant compliance issues. Each module focuses on a different function and includes examples, student exercises, and test questions to help students get practical experience using the IMDG regulations. Certificates, which comply with US Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements to document employee training are presented at the successful completion of the course. The IMDG Function Specific Training Program includes the option to purchase the entire course for only $325 per user, or purchase individual modules (prices vary for individual modules). Modules include: Classification; Consignment Procedures - Marking, Labeling, Placarding; Bulk and IBC Packaging; Portable Tanks; Consignment Procedures – Documentation; and Transport Operations. Click here for more information.

COMING SOON - IMDG FUNCTION SPECIFIC AMENDMENT 35. Other online training programs available from IVODGA include: International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) General Awareness Training and IMDG General Awareness Training Program for Non-DG Personnel.

IVODGA's IMDG General Awareness Training Program is approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) click here for more information.
