The Federal
Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is actively recruiting for their
Deputy Chief Counsel position, ES-0905. Seeking a dynamic, energetic
individual with experience with legislative and regulatory processes, for
example, the development, implementation, coordination, or enforcement of
statutes and regulations, especially those related to safety programs. Seeking
someone with the ability to represent and defend positions pertaining to
statutes and regulations to a variety of stakeholders both inside and outside of
government, in negotiation, litigation, or other settings and someone with the
ability to effectively communicate advice on novel or complex legal issues to
senior decision-makers. The individual should also bring skills that have
equipped them to serve as a superior executive leader.
The
incumbent of this position will serve as the Deputy Chief Counsel with
responsibility for furnishing legal advice and services concerning all aspects
of the programs; functions, or activities assigned to FMCSA. As a senior
executive in FMCSA, the person who occupies this position will work closely with
senior FMCSA management on programs and have a direct and immediate impact on
FMCSA’s ability to meet its strategic goals and those of the U.S. Department
of Transportation.
